The other day I was walking back to my apartment with Rodrigo and we stumbled into this cool looking coffee shop ‘15th Avenue Coffee & Tea’. I was bemused because it had recently been a Starbucks and was closed and refurbished to make way for this little indie joint. Then today my wife is reading TIME magazine and we find out that my new local coffee shop is actually part of a stealth campaign by an international corporation… Starbucks! And I had to read TIME, via the Chicago Tribune to find this out?! It’s interesting that the website for this new shop also makes absolutely no mention of Starbucks. Is their image so bad that they now have to secretly sell coffee under another name to get by?
